J.Q. Delap is a well known energy executive, as well as a senior strategist and entrepreneur, with diverse experience in all facets of the regulated and non-regulated natural gas, oil, pipeline and power industries. He has been instrumental in building and growing small and large energy companies. J.Q.’s small company experience began as President of LEDCO, a Gulf Coast gas pipeline company. In this role, he built a vertically integrated energy business, including the initial pipeline company, combined with an exploration and production company, a well servicing company, an LDC (local distribution company), and three natural gas marketing companies each having specific disciplines (Canadian, US intrastate and US natural gas marketing). Built in less than five years, the company was recognized by Inc. magazine as being one of the fastest growing private companies in North America. LEDCO’s revenues were the 6th largest in the nation of all private companies in the United States. J.Q.’s energy expertise includes exploration and production, marketing, management, business development, strategic planning, financial and deal structuring, consulting, contract negotiation, pipeline operations, processing, and merchant power facilities. J.Q.’s strongest assets include his extensive contact base in all facets of energy, his intense team approach to solution–driven leadership, his ability to implement strategic direction; plus, his communication and negotiation skills to close transactions. J.Q.’s educational background includes a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
